Valentine’s Heart Pie recipe
Ingredients: Pie Shell:
1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
¼ cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon sugar
Filling:
1 cup water
1 (3-ounce) packet strawberry gelatin
2 cups vanilla ice cream
Milk chocolate kisses, for garnish Procedures: 1) Preheat oven to 375°F.
2) Prepare the pie shell: Combine ingredients in a large bowl; mix with hands until blended. Press into a 9-inch pie pan. Bake until golden and slightly firm, about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
3) Prepare the filling: Combine water and gelatin in a small saucepan over high heat; bring to a boil and simmer until dissolved, stirring, about 2 minutes. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl; add ice cream and stir until completely melted. Chill 30 minutes, until mixture slightly firmed, stirring every 10 minutes.
4) Pour chilled ice cream into prepared pie shell. Chill 4 hours, until filling is completely set. Arrange chocolate kisses in a heart shape on pie and serve. Notes: A no-bake pie that’s not too heavy but perfectly sweet.
